Discovering the Power of Research
“I got the science bug,” she says. “I was hooked and I began to see the power of research and what you can do with it.” Initiated in 1994, the Summer Research Program is designed to transfer that bug for science to the next generation of researchers by providing the opportunity for students to immerse themselves fully in the world of basic and/or clinical research for three months in the summer. Paired with one or two principal investigators at CHORI like Dr. Dean who volunteer to mentor the students, participants design and test their own hypotheses, and develop their own methodologies, rationales and project significance. At the end of the summer, students present their research to their peers. Discover the power of research through the Summer Research Program. Please review the program description and applications to find out how you can participate.
