2008 Summer Research Program
Program Description

The objective of this program is to provide summer research opportunities for undergraduate, medical and high school students at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland. The goal is to identify students with the potential to pursue careers in biomedical, clinical and bio-behavioral research by providing training in a friendly and nurturing environment.

Funded and volunteer positions are available; a committee will select qualified applicants. Accepted students will be paired with a mentor who will guide them through their research projects. Students will work full time for 9 weeks between June 12 and August 15, 2008. They will participate in a research program based on a structured curriculum, attend weekly seminars and bi-weekly meetings and present their research findings at a one-day Research Symposium.
