CHORI’s Sibling Donor Cord Blood Program Receives $5 Million NIH Grant
"Donor program gets grant: Oakland institute to receive $5 million" (San Francisco Chronicle, August 20, 2001). The San Francisco Chronicle reported the five-year National Institutes of Health award to the CHORI Sibling Donor Cord Blood Program. The award follows a previous $1.2 million award from NIH that helped set up the program. The article discusses the program’s role in the treatment of certain blood disorders, and specifically the consequent 13 blood transplant operations, which resulted in cures.
