Lynne Neumayr, MD

Dr. Neumayr is a physician in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, specializing in sickle cell disease. She completed her undergraduate education at University of California, Davis, graduated medical school at University of California, San Diego and completed her Internship and Residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.

Dr. Neumayr has more than 20 years of experience coordinating multi-center translational clinical trials focusing on perioperative transfusion, acute chest syndrome, avascular necrosis, neurocognitive and neuroimaging in adults, and iron metabolism. She attends in the pediatric sickle cell clinic and apheresis unit. Prior to medical school she worked as a statistician at the National Institutes of Mental Health. Current areas of research interests include: safety and efficacy of erythrocytapheresis for complications of sickle cell disease, biomarkers of vaso-occlusive crisis and novel therapies.
