Dr. Selma Meyerowitz is currently an Associate Governmental Program Analyst for the State of California Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation. The Commission provides research, analysis and policy recommendations on health and safety and workers’ compensation, as well as acts as a public forum for employers, workers, insurance companies, and the general public. Dr. Meyerowitz received her Ph.D. in literature and taught at the university level for a number of years. She then worked with large and small companies, including health care companies, across several industries as a Human Resources Professional. She holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA). Dr. Meyerowitz has lived in Berkeley and Oakland for more than 20 years. She has been a Board member of the Berkeley Youth Orchestra and the Oakland Youth Orchestra. She has also been active with the Parent Association Boards at Bentley School and College Preparatory School.
Dr. Meyerowitz has been on the Children’s Hospital IRB since September 3, 2000, as a community member.
