Rebecca Landes, JD, is a policy coordinator at the Office of Research at the University of California Office of the President. She handles research policy issues, such as protection of human subjects and ethical issues arising from industry funding for research. Prior to her position with the University of California, Ms. Landes was a consumer advocate at Consumers Union where she worked on medical records privacy, home equity fraud, the provision of healthcare to children under the California Children's Health Insurance Program, and the preservation of assets in conversions of non-profit health care organizations to for-profit entities. Ms. Landes has also been the Director of Overseas Development for the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco and was a staff attorney with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
