Clinical Research in CHORI's Center for Cancer A member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) – the largest
The director of Children Hospital Oakland’s (CHO) nationally renowned Oncology Department, James Feusner, MD, is responsible for the major clinical research efforts of The Cancer Center. Dr. Feusner is Chairperson of the CHO Tumor Board, a biweekly multidisciplinary board providing formal treatment recommendations for clinical patients, and serves as the principle investigator for all COG protocols. Dr. Feusner’s main research interests include acute, promyelocytic leukemia, hepatoblastoma, late effects of cancer treatment and supportive care. Carla Golden, MD, is a clinical pediatric oncologist specializing in solid tumors and methotrexate toxicities. These are but a few examples of The Center for Cancer’s dedication to providing the highest quality in care while developing and evaluating treatments that offer the greatest opportunity for survival and preservation of quality of life.
