quality processing and customer service offered by ViaCord, ViaCell's
product offering for the preservation and storage of cord blood for
Under this agreement, ViaCell will conduct enrollments and process and
store new cord blood units collected for transplantation under the
Sibling Connection Program at ViaCord's Processing Laboratory. The
CHORI transplantation team will continue to monitor cord blood unit
collections and demographics of participation, utilization patterns, and
oversee cord blood unit releases for transplantation. In addition,
transplantation outcomes will be monitored and data collection
activities will be extended in The Sibling Connection Program.
We have completed a seamless transition that continues to provide
expert customer service by the combined staff at CHORI and ViaCord. In
addition, we continue to offer cord blood collection and processing at
no cost to any eligible family, which we anticipate will broaden the
availability of this service. A list of eligible conditions has been
attached for your review. We encourage you to contact us if you have
any questions about this transition or about any aspect of the program.
In the future, patients should be instructed to contact us at (866)
861-8435 to initiate enrollment in the program.
We look forward to your continued collaboration and participation in
this important program.
